Kathy is the owner and principal bookkeeper at KM Business Directions. As a business manager, she brings to her clients more than 25 years of experience in financial and business management
Raised in Toronto, Ontario, her business spirit came at a young age. By 21, she was appointed to a management position in with a major Canadian bank and by the age of 30 she was promoted to a senior-management position in Atlanta, GA with an international organization operating in almost 100 countries.
Upon return to Canada, Kathy was offered a position to manage the operations of a small, growing business in Kingston Ontario. Kathy was responsible for setting up the business operations, internal departmental structures, including the human resources and accounting departments. Concurrently she managed the growth of these departments and junior management staff. With Kathy’s leadership, the owner was able to focus on business development and in just over two years, the company grew exponentially across Canada and into the US, and relocated twice to larger office space.
It was this position that inspired Kathy to focus on small business and in 2007, Kathy moved back to Toronto and launched KM Business Directions. During this time she has helped many business owners in the Toronto area to organize the operations of their businesses, often starting with the introduction of bookkeeping and financial controls.
Kathy has since moved back to the Kingston area and provides bookkeeping & accounting services to clients in Toronto and Kingston, Ontario.
Over the years, Kathy has honed her skills in general accounting, HR practices, and back-end business operations all the while striving for the highest ethical business standards. Her strengths include business financial management, development, strategic planning, and creating resources and tools for business efficiency and growth.
